š°ļø We know the path to success is consistency, which is, work over A period of time.
What you may not know,Ā is you donāt have time. We donāt have 52 weeks in a year.Ā
One week is your aunt Selmaās wedding, šthen you have 3-4 seasonal holidays. āļø1-2 weeks of illness. š¦ Throw in a Nice vacation, šļøyour birthday, šyour partnerās birthday, and your kid's birthdays. šDonāt forget you need to try that new restaurant. š§āš³Then there are those weeks when you just need a fucking break. š©
You have 30 weeks a year at best, and thatās if you bounce back from all these events the next day, not restart on Monday.Ā
WAIT!, I forgot the snow storm, šØļø the summer heatwave šyouāll definitely want a barbecue or two and donāt forget, Brenda is leaving work so you need to have a leaving party for her. š„³itās a lot.
š¤ Have to think about your life.
You donāt have time... Moreover time doesnāt work linearly, let me explainā¦ your body doesnāt work the same each session we are heavily influenced by circadian rhythm. āļø Winter you is different from š summer you, šø spring you is different from š autumn you, it takes timeā¦ The time you donāt have.
Ā š°ļø it takes more time to readjust to different seasonal effects that influence, appetite, movement and nutrient partitioning. (I have a large in-depth post on winter gain)Ā
We just donāt have as much time as we think. I donāt get after it, every day because Iām disciplined and motivated. Itās because I know I donāt have time. Iāve been walking this path for 15 years and Iām aware, aware of the next curve ball life may throw at me.Ā
We have to be ready because we donāt always bounce back. So Iām investing my time in being robust. Metabolically, mentally, and physically this will give you the best chance.Ā
Ā Iāll give you an example, one of my clients from years ago told me about his wifeās experience with covid, she got super ill and needed brain surgery, which gave her two strokes. She is not in a good way.Ā š This breaks my heart. They are overweight and out of time. Thereās always hope, but it would have been easier 5 years ago.Ā
One of my clients asks why Iām so affected by this,Ā and my reply is, ābecause I used to be them.ā
I used to be overweight, have a huge pack of Doritos and dip with some sweets after my dinner and watch tv all night and not exercise.
Ā š®I didnāt need a Crystal ball to see where I was headed, I chose to accept FULL responsibility for my life. I changed overnight, the body took a little time to follow.Ā
This is why Heath isnāt a journey, itās a destination. Iām not šÆ% šÆ% of the time however, over the last 15 years good decisions have compounded. Iām now in a place of exceptional health.Ā
You should have health, always. Health is where you should live.
Ā š§āāļøThe secret is to Move forward when you can and hold the line when you canāt. Stop running 2 steps forward and 3 back when time is against you.Ā
There is no better time to start than NOW!
