đWhy is you HRV so high? What tips do you have?Â
This is how I think about it.Â
đ« You have a jar of stressÂ
and a jar of đ« willpower.
The two are connected, when willpower empties the stress fills.Â
You could also say when the stress fills the willpower empties.
đ« đ«Â
People say I tried my hardest, results donât care how hard you tried. The work is the work whether you meet the minimum standards or not. Maybe your hardest isnât the right approach.
đ You are working hardest when the will power is emptiest and stress is fullest, that is working hard butâŠ. not smart.Â
If willpower empties and stress starts to over fill that is burnout. đ„ Iâm not saying there is no value in hard work but running as hard as you can in the wrong direction isnât going to help win the race.Â
đ Thatâs a one way ticket to burnoutÂ
Iâve been there⊠so now I work hard at the things that reduce stress. & I donât waste too much energy on things that make stress with no return.
â ïž Things like alcohol, drugs, Arguments, Energy vampires, work stress, unnecessary worry, Situations where I canât control the outcome.Â
Think about how can you apply that to your life to get the results you want and avoid burnout. It takes time to rewire your brain đ§ Â
đ€©Not all stress is bad. I save space in my stress jar for âstressâ that Iâll get a return on.Â
Like Various exercise modalities, low intensity zone2, resistance training, walking, high intensity moreover It helps if you use the right fuel source for the right activity. ( đ hello lumen)Â
đ„ąDiet plays a role but Iâm not going here today. Anytime you create an energy deficit you create stress.Â
đ„¶ Cold water works but I donât do it enough
đ„” Heat I love but donât do it enoughÂ
đŹ Breath work I donât do anything to fancy just a longer exhale than inhale, when I want to down regulate.
I do enough of these to get an adaption in the right quantityâs not to over stress the system.Â
â I also do little things that cost little but I get a huge return on.Â
â Sleep mask
â Blue light glasses
â Activity wind down
â General movement throughout the day.Â
đGratitudeÂ
â Limit caffeine per day
â No caffeine past 2pmÂ
â Wake up at the same time even on weekends.Â
My goal is to spend half my willpower and fill half my stress 80% of the time.Â
đ© Somedays you canât control what shit youâll have to deal with so I like to leave something for the unexpected.Â
đ„ Sometimes Iâll burn through the lot and do something epic to give the whole system a wake up call.Â
